PCYC Crestmead
PCYC Crestmead is a local community hub that focuses on supporting young people and families through inclusive, affordable programs and activities that build safer, healthier communities. As part of the broader PCYC Queensland network, the club works in partnership with community organisations and police to create positive opportunities for young people in the Crestmead and Logan area.
The club delivers targeted youth development and crime prevention initiatives—such as leadership programs, driver mentoring and after‑dark sport—designed to engage at‑risk young people, build life skills and create positive pathways into education, training and employment. These programs aim to reduce antisocial behaviour, strengthen resilience and help young people feel more connected to their community.
Alongside these initiatives, PCYC Crestmead offers a range of fitness, boxing, martial arts and recreation programs that bring community members of all ages together in a safe and welcoming environment. By providing accessible activities, volunteer opportunities and a friendly place to belong, the club plays a vital role in building stronger, more inclusive community connections in Crestmead.
Logan City Community Men’s Shed
Logan City Community Men’s Shed in Crestmead is a welcoming space where men can connect, share skills and support each other through practical, hands-on activities. Located on Magnesium Drive, the shed offers a friendly, non-judgemental environment that helps reduce isolation, especially for retirees, men experiencing unemployment or health issues, and those navigating major life changes.
Members can get involved in a wide range of activities such as woodworking, metalwork, leatherwork, candle and soap making, photography and IT classes for seniors, with opportunities to work on both personal and community projects at their own pace. These activities give men a chance to use their skills, learn new ones and contribute to local community initiatives, creating a sense of purpose and achievement.
Beyond tools and projects, the shed strongly focuses on mateship, mental health and wellbeing by providing a safe place for a cuppa, a chat and regular social events where men can talk openly and support one another. Through this combination of practical work, social connection and mutual support, Logan City Community Men’s Shed plays an important role in improving wellbeing and strengthening community ties in the Logan area.
P&C Crestmead State School
The Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association at Crestmead State School is a volunteer group of parents, carers and community members that works in partnership with the school leadership to promote the interests of the school and improve outcomes for students. The P&C plays an active role in supporting the school’s development by providing feedback on school policies, assisting with planning and resourcing, and helping to create a strong sense of community around the school.
Through fundraising events, fetes and other activities, the P&C helps to provide additional facilities, equipment and sponsorships that enhance students’ learning and wellbeing. The association also represents families in discussions about matters such as school uniforms and supports a safe, respectful environment by following clear codes of conduct and student protection procedures.
All parents and carers are encouraged to get involved, attend regular meetings held at the school, and contribute ideas or time to support school events and initiatives. By working together with staff and the wider community, the Crestmead State School P&C strengthens partnerships between home and school and helps ensure students have access to the best possible opportunities.
